Happy Birthday!

I celebrated my birthday recently and
still yet to use my gift... from my sweet husband Ray.
It's as beautiful to look at, as I am sure it will be, practical to use.
The Singer 160 Limited Edition
to celebrate the 160 anniversary of the Singer brand.

Here is my portable featherweight 221 from the 1930's
Amazing to see them side by side.

I tend to sew all my bear patterns by hand,
but look forward to creating something with my new machine
Now I just need some ... easy sewing projects.
Any ideas for me?

Next... Soft as Sorbet

An Extra long Easter weekend for me.
I extended my weekend to have 6 days off!
I don't even know myself...
As Choc Chip was quickly adopted,
I have started a new cub that should be available soon.

Here is what I have so far
Hand shaded Sorbet inspired fur...

Mango, banana, cherry, and lemon ice....yum

Here are a few of my ice cream scoops,
I just have to make some Sorbet balls to go with this little one.

Long time between posts

Not like me to wait so long to post on my blog,
but a lot has been happening here.
Our town and house was evacuated for a bush fire
- all safe and no damage, but a sleepless night and too close for comfort.

Then only a week later the town before our was under threat
so again could not pass to get home again.

Work has been hectic, working days, night and some weekends
to keep up, has not left a lot of time for fun.

So in efforts to get blogging and back to my bears
I am offering a special cub for adoption.
Choc Chip is a Bare Cub Designs favorite
won awards and features in my book

A mother's memory...

Here is the finished bear, made from a mother's coat.
What a beautiful way to treasure
a coat handed down the generations.
Sure better than a coat in a cupboard
never to be seen.

This very special bear was created for a local lady
I am sure this bear will bring smiles
and a memory or two

A memory in the making

I have been given the honour to transform
a mothers fur coat into a Bare Cub...
Here is the progress so far

This cub will be finished & photographed today
I'll be sure to share the finished cub photo!

A fresh start to the new year for Morgan

One of my early bears founds its way back to me
after being damaged by a new puppy!
Here is the damaged bear...

Morgan now has a new outlook for 2013
After much work, the eyes needed replacing.
A new nose made to match the original.
I managed to save the white eye accents,
but that was all...oh and his hearing was not damaged
so he has his own ears back!

Happy New Year

A quick note to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
I am having a nice break, looking forward to the new year.

Catching up on a few orders and making some clay treats
Treo, Strawberry Swirl and Neo in a small size
for a collector to sit with her Bare Cub Designs
in crystal cups.

Choc Mint scoops,
this waffle just needs a soft brown airbrush

Now for a new available bear.
