  1. Hi, Helen. Your sea container space is so clean and neat! When you say "sea container," do you mean the kind of containers they load on ships? How did you get one? That's really neat! I love your cute, cuddly teddy bears... thanks for sharing your space. :-)

    1. Hi Carmen, yes the kind they load on ships. My husband bought me it for my birthday and turned it into a art studio. Cut out the door, windows, added lights a deck and even a store room! Its a wonderful space. Here are the photos before and after http://barecubdesigns.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/where-blogger-create-party.html Hugs Helen

  3. Your creative space is wonderful and your little bears are precious. I made bears regularly about 30 years ago and have not made one in years. In organizing my space, I came across my favorite pattern and now seeing your bears, I am inspired to make another one.

  4. How exciting, I always love to see what people build with sea containers (I think there was one in last years WBC and it was in Australia). You sure got the maximum space look to your container and its so sorted and tidy, really nice & brilliant use of space!!!

Love the black and white teddy bear, he looks like an sea otter... Super cute!!!

    1. Im glad you like it - its 12 meters long, so I find it hard to make it not look empty - but then I have so much mess most of the time. the store room keeps most the mess away.. Hugs Helen

  6. Thanks for the tour of your studio - it's inspiring. I'm about to ransack our loungeroom (my work space) again, to try and locate yet another missing bear part - how can these bear bits disappear so easily, I wonder!

  11. Wow! Color me impressed. A sea container, how very creative. I would love to have seen the outside too. Do you have plans to cut windows out, or maybe not having them is better for inspiring your creativity. I love how light and bright you have made it and all the wonderful storage. I know I already said it, but I am so very impressed :)

  12. WOWWW!! I had to go back and review last years post to see how this all started . . . and HOLY COW! What a brilliant (if you have the space and ability) idea! I LOVE your studio, my friend. What an awesome husband to create this space for you, too. I adore it. (And it looks like you still have lots of storage spaces to fill up . . . which is super exciting to me, too!) Thanks so much for sharing your creative space with us all! Happy creating, my friend!

  15. Yours is the type of organized craft space I would have in the basement where I make cards but my unfinished are is better than nothing. I've never seen your bears before and I see personality in every little face peering out from your blog. So sweet!

  21. From how it looks on the inside you wouldn't think it was made from a container. You've done a really good job on the finish.I love the clean look of the white and how you've organised everything (I'm ignoring the storage room). Your teddy nears are gorgeous too.
    Thanks for sharing your room.
    Happy making.

  27. Hi Helen
Your bears really are unique and I just love all the little embellishments you have collected to decorate your bears with having been a bear maker in the past a number of years ago now. Each little bear has it's own personality and yours are special!
Thanks for sharing you beautiful space with us!

  31. Fantastic space, I am thinking of getting a shipping container too to use as a studio on the side of our house so the 6yr old can have his own room. Love all your little areas and your bears are adorable. I am just getting back into making a few after a break of about 8 years :-)
